A Summer of Bows and Bug Bites

OK, I am mad at myself for not posting, but I have my reasons! I was accepted to UCLA for the coming fall! Woohoo! Summer has being crazy fun with an influx of beach bonfires, road trips, thrift shopping, and bug bites. But I am back now in full gear!

Can it be summer? Like NOW?!?

I have summeritis! I am itching to get out school and have an amazing summer. I am ready for long nights with friends and family, beach days, bonfires, water balloon fights, hikes, and outdoor concerts.

I just have to tell myself that summer is almost here, just hang in there! With summer in mind, I wore this Navy Polka Dot dress I got from a thrift store in San Diego for only $5.99, originally from Target! Steal!

UC Santa Cruz & UC Berkeley Trip

I was fortunate enough to have been chosen to attend a 2-day school trip to visit UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley. The weather was overcast and rainy, but it was still so much fun!

UC Santa Cruz was a beautiful campus! Full of trees and miles of greenery I felt like I was at summer camp. Pictures: Forest of Redwood trees & View of campus recreation field

UC Berkeley was a unique mix of old and modern. I loved the campus because each and every building had a vast amount of history behind them. A great plus are the many shops and food places surrounding the     campus! Pictures: The University Library & Sather Tower aka The Campanile

      

It was such a looong drive so I aimed my outfit mainly for comfort. Some advice, when going on any kind of bus trip bring a blanket! It gets freezing cold on the bus!

For the past 5 years , I have obsessed with the website http://lookbook.nu/ . Lookbook is a cool website that people from around the world can post pictures of outfits they are wearing. I love mainly looking at people from other countries outfits because they are so inspirational!

Lipstick Beauty Looks for African American Women

I am a sucker for a good lipstick. I used to be afraid of wearing lipstick but my sister and best friends totally converted me! Here are some amazing looks for African American women to try and of course anyone else!  Color lipstick works for everyone!

I love this entire look! Her hair looks simple with her soft waves and her bright pink lipstick adds a pop of color to her overall look.

I <3 Top Buns! There are perfect for any face! I am loving the refined look of her top bun paired with her red lipstick. And her outfit is on point!

I have always loved  how crazy curls look on any woman! Her whole look is simple and casual with her curly hairstyle, jean jacket, printed top, and pink lips.

Word of advice: Don't avoid color! Color lipstick is the perfect beauty product to perk up your whole face!
